The alloy of a metal singing bowl consists (according to narrations) of 7 or more metals, including copper, iron, gold, tin and lead. By changing in wall thickness, composition and size each sound scale gets its own tone and color. Singing bowls are from the Tibetan Buddhist areas in the various states in the Himalayas.

Place the bowl on the open palm of one hand. With the other hand strike the bowl with the stick, then keeping contact with bowl move the stick around the outer rim. As the bowl sings it creates vibrations of its own which effect the vibration in the air. In Tibetan tradition the powerful vibrations of the singing bowl respond to the sound of the universal creation and inner consciousness. It can also be used as space clearing tool in Feng Shui.
